Grownup Gripe: We ran out of ice cream (talk about a grownup emergency) so we made the best of what we got AND we got a lot of it this winter.
So we made ice cream with snow. It’s snow easy!
If you’re one of the one hundred million Americans who got pounded with winter storms this week my guess is you’re so over the snow.
I hear you but let’s make lemonade from lemons or in today’s case, delicious ice cream from snow.
All you have to do is grab a big bowl, go right out your front door and find fresh powder to scoop.
It’s that easy. Bring your pile of snow in, add it to your liquid base and voila homemade ice cream!
Snow Ice Cream
1/2 cup of half and half or milk
1/4 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
Pinch of salt
4 or 5 cups of fresh snow
Whisk together first four ingredients in big bowl.
Add snow in 2 batches, mix ‘til right consistency.
It melts quickly so enjoy asap or freeze 30-60 mins to set. Add anything you want on top.
We used chocolate and pistachios but peanuts, caramel, fruit or whipped cream would be good.
Have fun with it! You could even go crazy and make piña coladas or old school 7-11 Slurpies.
My only advice is to avoid the yellow stuff jk😭
